As part of my final year university project, I was required to conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on the components I had designed to simulate the specific loads acting on these parts. This allowed the visualisation of the von-mises stress and displacement distributions within the components, and any critical values could be rectified through design changes. The main load acting on the components was the wind force, which was calculated and simulated using Solidworks Simulations. All components were designed to comply with a factor of safety of 1.7.
