As part of my Mechanics and Simulation unit in final year, I was required to simulate the heat flow through a flanged pipe using Solidworks. The pipe was subjected to various temperature conditions and then probed at different points to gauge the heat losses through the pipe. Hand calculations were also conducted in order to validate the simulated results.
