As part of the Engineering Design Tools unit, I was required to design a two-stage gearbox that had an output speed of 4200 rpm and a power output of 1600 watts when the input speed is 1000 rpm. Software 'MITCalc' was used to determine the specifications of the gears and shafts. The Gearbox was then modelled using Solidworks and on part tolerancing was applied to each individual part.
