As part of the Engineering Simulation unit a colleague and I were required to modify a pressure manifold using Solidworks in order to reduce the displacement and von mises stress acting on the manifold. As can be seen in the images, ribs were added to reinforce the part. FEA was also used to analyse which parts of the manifold suffered most from stress and displacement.
